Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a therapy developed more that 2000 years ago in Asia that consists of stimulating designated points on the skin by the insertion of needles in order to restore and balance the body’s energy or *Qi*(pronounced chee). These are gateways through which the practitioner exerts influence upon organs and functions, stimulating and activating the body’s self-healing mechanisms. It is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, (TCM) which also includes the application of electrical stimulation, heat, acupressure, diet, and Herbal Medicine.

Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine is the main treatment method within Traditional Chinese Medicine. Western folk herbalists primarily treat disease or generalized symptoms, such as headaches, runny nose, etc. Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on individual diagnosis. Chinese herbs treat the underlying condition as defined by traditional diagnosis, and rarely cause unwanted side-effects. Chinese herbs are usually combined in formulas to boost their individual properties and actions. Symptoms and signs are matched with therapeutic effects, imitating the particular conditions and needs of each patient. Chinese herbal medicine may include vegetable, animal, and mineral ingredients. Leaves, flowers, twigs, stems, roots, tubers, rhizome and bark are among the parts of the vegetable used. Most of the components of Chinese Herbal Medicine have a very low toxicity compared to even common, over-the-counter Western drugs. When they are prescribed according to a correct TCM pattern diagnosis, they should have few, if any side effects.

Ear Candling
Ear candling is a natural way to clean out accumulated wax and white flakiness’ from the ears. The accumulations withdrawn from your ears may be months or even years old. Ear candles are a custom made design from natural fibers and tapered to precise specifications. Ear candling involves placing a long cylinder shaped candle into the ear which creates a low-level vacuum that draws wax and other debris out of the ear canal. Some claim that impurities are removed from the inner ear, and facial sinuses all of which are connected to the canal. Claim is that ear candling can help:

  • Relieve sinus pressure
  • Clean the ear canal
  • Relieve ear aches
  • Improve hearing
  • Help TMJ pain and stiffness
  • Help sinusitis
  • Sharpen the senses of smell & taste
  • Relieve vertigo

Diagnostic Testing
Bio Functional Medical System is a method of combining the fundamental of oriental acupuncture with modern technology. Meridans on the fingers and toes are used to find deficiencies in every major organ. Deficiencies in organ function are recognized through measured energetic disturbances shown in the test results. All diseases begin with disturbances of the energetic system.

Facial Rejuvenation
Facial Rejuvenation is a painless, non-surgical method of reducing signs of the aging process. Facial Rejuvenation can sometimes be referred to as an Acupuncture Facelift. It is a rejuvenation process designed to help the whole body look and feel younger. Facial Rejuvenation treatment is based on the principles of Oriental Medicine and involves the insertion of -thin needles into specified areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, and legs along channels or meridians of energy called Qi. These points are chosen to manipulate the movement of energy in the body according to the individual's needs.

Cupping
Cupping is a therapy designed to stimulate the flow of blood and Qi within the superficial muscle layers. It is used for sore muscles, tension, neck pain and the common cold. In this therapy, your acupuncturist will place small glass or plastic “cups” over specific areas on your body. A vacuum is created under the cup using heat or suction.

Tui Na
Tui Na translates as “push grasp.” It is a massage technique that moves Qi in various parts of the body. It is used to relieve muscle pain, tension and inflammation to heal injuries.

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a treatment that uses herbs called mugwort. It may be burned on the handle of the needle, above the skin, on salt or on a slice of ginger. This is used to “warm” acupuncture points or areas in order to quicken the healing process.
